November
November was relatively calm...for the first half. We had quite a storm near the end though. How big of a storm you ask? well...

October...ish...
October was a good month, since I covered it a little already, I will focus on my favorite part of it, HALLOWEEN!
Ok ok, it has nothing to do with my internship at all. But this blog is about my entire trip and not just the school portion now isn't it? My blog, my rules, deal already.
Halloween in Lahaina is quite impressive. There is nothing quite like it unless you live in say New York, or Madison WI, but i digress.
The entire front street is shut down, making aproximately 8 city blocks turned from busy street, to...well it is still busy but with foot traffic instead of the rolling kind. The local stations interview people live, and since its Hawaii, there are a lot of "interesting" costumes. Lets check out the still frame replay.
Here we see a Husband and wife going as a Matador and a bull. I didn't get to talk to them much, but it looked like all was in fun.
And here, is thing 1 and thing 2, they were about most of the night causing mild mischief, but rest assured their shenanigans were all in fun.
Here we have Darth Maul. This guy definitly put some time and work into his costume. Since I only had my camera phone the picture isn't as good as it could be but trust me, that mask was flawless.
And finaly, we have Leeloo from 5th element. She was a very popular person that night. Everyone wanted her picture and complimented her on the creativity of her costume. Oh come on, get yer mind out of the gutter!
So that was Halloween in Hawaii, wish i could be here for it next year but, alas I may have to settle for the slightly more fridged Halloween of Madison. I think I'll get over it.

Slight gap in information
Ok, ok, I'm back. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of excitement involved as of late. As to what the excitement was, well...

A visit from the Natives
Yesterday we had a bit of fun on the farm. A group known as the Barefoot Natives came to film some footage and to serenade the goats. it was quite fun watching them film this part of the sequence for their concert footage. Not to mention the goats seemed to really enjoy the music and loved nibbling on the cameraman's video camera. here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Aloha!
I would also like to remember everyone that you can post comments to my post and leave requests for things you would like to see there. Not only will this allow me to make my blog more entertaining for you all, it will let me know that someone is ACTUALY READING THIS!
Aloha!

First Week in Paradise
Let me start by saying, all that howlie stuff is way over rated. That said...HAWAII IS GREAT!!!
I am in full swing working with the goats, and they are very interesting creatures. they know where they need to be, at what time, and when to crowd around the mangers for feeding. its amazing how little smell there is on a goat farm save for when it rains and during mating season.
palm trees are everywhere, and the weather is always warm, though rain happens randomly.
I will make a more in depth post later when my battery isn't dying.

Well its been about a week since my last post so, here is an update. no I am not in Hawaii yet, still hanging around Wisconsin until the end of September. If it wasn't for all the Mosquitoes it would be a great time, but alas they have been attacking in swarms since my return, and quite a few fingers have been pointed my way as the cause of there renewed vigorous multiplication. something about the unwritten 8th plague but anyway...
I have some good news, i now own a video camera, so expect some video sequences of my shenanigans. who knows, might be one posted this month.

In the Begining
Greetings fellow Wisconsinites, NECI associates, or just random surfers. This blog will chronicle my time in Hawaii working at Surfing Goat Dairy. While i don't know what this journey will bring, i am slightly concerned about the lack of snow in winter.
come back often (starting in October) to see what new shenanigans I get into and how bad I get beat up by the locals. and don't be afraid to send cheese!
